“Moorey The More Eel”
My name is Erica Edmondson. I am majoring in Health Information Management. I currently live in Wisconsin; but, I am originally from Florida. My mixed media artwork ” Moorey the Morey Eel” was inspired by a Marine Biology class trip to the Fl Keys. I discovered Moorey in an abandoned water pipe under the dock on Pigeon Key. He bobbed his head in and out of the pipe looking for food. Dr. Ken Thomas took his picture and Moorey now has legal protection because Pigeon Key is located in a marine wildlife sanctuary area. I received scientific credit for his discovery and the picture taken of him. Moorey’s picture was also featured in the Diver’s Guide to the Fl Keys.
